John Cena is ensuring Make-A-Wish Foundation children can still see him – even during the coronavirus pandemic.
The WWE wrestler and box office star on Sunday gave an early birthday present to a 7-year-old boy with a life-threatening illness.
Cena, who has granted more wishes with the foundation than anyone, wore a mask and gloves along with his neon green WWE garb and surprised David Castle at the young boy’s home in Tampa, Fla., as video posted by the NBC affiliate WFLA shows.
Castle is battling Wilms tumor, a childhood cancer that starts in the kidneys.
The “Fast and Furious 9” star later took pictures with Castle and this family.
Cena brought Castle replica WWE championship belts, signed t-shirts and a bobblehead along with a hat and some armbands. Castle’s mother, Tammy Miller, told the station that Cena’s visit brought tears of joy to her son.
Castle was diagnosed with the tumor in October 2019, according to the network. He will turn 8 on May 10.
Cena, who has become part-time wrestler, last appeared in WWE at WrestleMania 36 against “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Fun House match. He has granted more than 600 wishes with the foundation.
